Mumbai: Police arrest husband, kin for wife's suicide

Mumbai, Jul 28: The Kalyan Government Railway Police on Tuesday booked the husband and two other family members for abetment to suicide two weeks after a 30-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter died by suicide by jumping in front of a train at Asangaon station.

Shashikant Repe (32), his mother Kusum (60) and brother Amol (30) were booked. The family hails from Ulhasnagar.

Earlier, the GRP had registered an accidental death report and recorded statements of the victim's family. However, they found that the woman was due to after harassment by her husband and other family members. A GRP official said a further probe is on.
