Bangalore: Recruitment Scam - Govt Ordered to Seize Hard Disks

Bangalore, Sep 16 (PTI):
The High Court on Thursday September 16 directed the government to produce the hard disks of the computers used to enter the marks of interviewed candidates in Hassan and Mysore Medical colleges whose appointments were cancelled on the ground of irregularities.

The direction was given during the hearing of writ petitions challenging cancellation of appointments of 375 para-medical staff of the two colleges.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy after hearing the counsels for selection committees of the two colleges, directed the government to produce the hard disks of the two computers (already seized by the government) used to enter the marks of the interviewed candidates to ascertain the details of marks and when they (marks) were entered.

The court then adjourned hearing of the petitions to Sept 20.The alleged irregularities in the recruitment led to the resignation of Ramachandra Gowda as Medical Education Minister on Sept 12. The court had rapped Gowda over irregularities in the recruitments, but he had defended the procedure adopted in the appointments.
