Puttur: Retired army personnel arrested for alleged assault on woman

Puttur, Aug 1: A retired army personnel has been arrested on charges of assaulting a woman.

Jayakumar Poojary was arrested by Uppinangady police and produced in court.

In the complaint, Asha, wife of Shashikumar Pillai, resident of Shabarigiri Mane of Ilanthila village of Beltangady taluk, alleged that on April 15, the accused threw a stone at her which hit her eye.

In addition, the complainant also alleged that the accused used abusive language at her.
