Bantwal, Aug 2: Vishwanath Swamy Sornadu (90), resident of Sornadu here, managing trustee of Durgambika Siddheshwari temple passed away at Sornadu ashram due to heart failure on Sunday morning.
He was a bachelor, was spiritual and had acted in dramas and Yakshagana plays. He was running his own Yakshagana mela for the last several years.
He was felicitated by Tulu Sahitya Academy, Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Jagathika Banta Prathistana.
His last rites were performed near Sornadu ashram on Sunday afternoon. Former minister B Ramanath Rai and others offered their last respects to him.
