Pope Concludes Britain Visit with Mass, Beatification

London, Sep 19 (DPA) Pope Benedict XVI is due to end his four-day official visit to Britain Sunday with the beatification of a 19th century English convert, seen by the Catholic Church as a high point of the visit.

The beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman, who converted to Catholicism in 1845, will take place in Birmingham.

Earlier Sunday, British police released without charge six men of North African origin, who were arrested Friday on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack on the pope.

The men, all street cleaners to be deployed along routes travelled by the pope in London, had been overheard talking about the pope visit in a work canteen, reports Sunday said.
