Mangalore, Sep 20: Civil department in Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management observed Engineers’ Day, recently. Sahyadri Pupils’ Association of Civil Engineering (SPACE), students’ organization was also inaugurated on the occasion.

Inaugurating the programme, Dr K S Babunarayan, professor, NIT-K Suratkal spoke on the life and achievement of Sir M Visvesvaraya. He proved that the prosperity and growth of village depends on the growth and advancement of technology.

Dr D L Prabhakar, principal, Sahyadri college of Engineering and Management presided.

Speaking on the occasion, he threw light on values and life of Visvesvaraya and called upon students to incorporate his ideals.

Third semester student Sasha Rai on behalf of the students spoke on life and achievement of Visvesvaraya.

The president of SPACE Prof Purushothama C T welcomed the gathering and vice-president Joyson C proposed the vote of thanks.
