Udupi: 65-year-old arrested for sexually harassing minor, booked under POCSO

Udupi, Aug 6: Police have arrested a 65-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl.

The arrested is identified as Anantha Sherigar. The police have booked him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Earlier, Childline had received a complaint on the sexual harassment on 11-year-old minor girl. Childline protection unit officer Prabhakar Achar, activist Yogish and Suraksha visited the house of the victim and shifted her for counselling.

Later, parents were asked to file a complaint at the women's police station. As per the complaint, inspector Jayanth M directed sub-inspector Violet Femina to register a case and arrest the accused.

    @Rolf. Absolutely correct. Chaddi ideology has taken Karnataka, and the whole country 1000 years backwards since 2014. This trend should be snubbed from its roots right away. India has become laughing stock of the world due to the spreading of Chaddi ideology through social media etc. Truth is suppressed by these Chaddi gangs all over the country.
