Mangalore: Students Drowns, Friends Conceal Information

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Sep 21: It is learnt that Roshan Deepak, a student of St Aloysius College here, had drowned two days ago, when he had gone to Panambur beach along with his friends for swimming. All the four friends, who accompanied Roshan to the beach, did not inform Roshan’s family of what had happened, out of fear.

The student’s death came to light, after the policemen, who found an unidentified body at the beach on Monday September 20 morning, started gathering information. The policemen got post mortem of the body done at Wenlock Hospital. After Roshan’s brother identified the body, it was handed over to the family.

The student, staying in the house of a lady named Gracy in Valencia Bishop Compound as paying guest, was a resident of Mandantyar. On Saturday, he had visited Panambur with four friends to enjoy holiday. Two had come in a motor bike, while the other three arrived in bus. After Roshan was washed away during swimming, the four, who were shell-shocked, kept mum and went home. The policemen, who questioned Gracy, learnt that Roshan had gone to Panambur in the company of his friends, and further enquiries revealed the truth.
