Mangaluru, Aug 9: Rajani Shetty, a lover of animals from the city, this time went down a well to save the life of a kitten.
On Sunday August 8, a kitten had fallen into a well near Cascia High School here. Locals Atul and Sandeep who heard the kitten crying for its life from inside the well, contacted Rajani Shetty as they were aware that she saves and looks after many street dogs and goes to any length to save the lives of dying animals.
Rajani reached the spot along with husband, Damodar Shetty. She got down the bottom of the well by holding the rope and succeeded in bringing the kitten out. It may be re called that when a dog fell into a big well during the previous lockdown, Rajani had saved its life.
Rajani and her family have been feeding hundreds of dogs every day for the last several years. They use over 50 kg of rice to feed the dogs. They also care for the animals like dogs, cats, birds which get injured either after coming under vehicles or other reasons, even though they do not have enough space. Rajani, who does adventurous things to save the lives of animals, has become popular because of her sympathy for animals.
