Puttur, Sep 23: The police personnel of the town station here have arrested four persons, who had allegedly stolen a truck from Darbe in the town, and two motor bikes from Court Road here.

The thieves accused of stealing the truck have been identified as Munavar alias Munna from Uppinangady, and Abdul Razack from Nekkilady village. Manju alias Manjunath, and Vinu, both from Madikeri, have been charged with stealing the two motor bikes. The policemen are trying to find the whereabouts of Ramesh alias Bike Ramesh, a resident of Madikeri and accomplice of the said bike thieves. If they succeed, they hope to solve several other pending bike theft cases.

The truck in question was recovered from Shiradi. Munavar is also an accused in an illegal cattle trafficking case.  All the four were remanded to judicial custody, after being produced in the court here on Wednesday.

Town police inspector, K Srikant, sub-inspector (SI), Ravikumar, crime intelligence bureau SI, S L Nagaraj, and other police personnel had worked to solve the above cases, under the guidance of assistant superintendent of police, Amit Singh.
