Moodbidri: Social Service Organization ‘Adarsha’ Gets New Building

Moodbidri, Sep 25: The new building of ‘Adarsha’, a social service organization which is a household name in the taluks of Moodbidri and Karkala, was inaugurated on Thursday September 23. The building located at Vijayanagara and named ‘Adarshadhama’ is owned by the organization. 

Hajdulla Ismail, vice-president, Adarsha, inaugurated Adharshadhama. 

Mentally-challenged child prodigy Srikanth and Revathi, director, Co-operative Societies, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. 

Speaking on the occasion, Jacob Varghese, founder director, Adarsha, acknowledged the support of donors for humanitarian tasks at the organization and also explained the path trod by the organization over the years. 

Padmalatha Jain, president, Navachethana Vividoddesha Souhardha Sahakari Sangh, promoted by Adarsha, presided over the programme. 

MLA Abayachandra Jain, lawyer Bahubali Prasad, P K Thomas, Karnataka Bank manager Ramesh Holla, Immanuel Monis, and Shirley T Babu were present on the dais. 

Adarsha has been engaged in empowering rural artisans and labourers by forming 150 self-help-groups with over 2,000 members. It has been supporting the education of physically challenged students, extending financial help for wedding expenses of poor families, organizing self-employment training programmes, and advancing easy loans to rural women through Sahakari Sangh.
