Udupi: 'Bring physically challenged to mainstream' - MLA Raghupati Bhat

Udupi, Aug 23: "Instead of showing sympathy to the physically challenged, bring them to the mainstream by helping them. Support them to contribute for the society," said MLA Raghupati Bhat on Monday August 23.

He was speaking in Asha Nilya, a school for differently abled at Mission Compound, after distributing scooters, talking laptop, tailoring machines and braille kits.

Five tailoring machines were distributed to six people, talking laptops to five students, braille kits to seven students and scooters to 35 people.

During the occasion assistant secretary of zilla panchayat Kiran Padnekar, Woman and Child Development department deputy director Sheshappa, district development officer of Physically Disabled, Indian Red Cross president Tallur Shivaram Shetty, secretary K Jayaram Acharaya Saligrama and others were present.

    While volunteers or any member play important roles in disability care, it is very bad to comment about their contribution. One should Think well before writing such comment how much one have contributed towards weaker section from their pockets....
