Chikkamagaluru, Aug 24: A sorcerer who cheated three wives and had eloped with the fourth one, now faces a case. The man who married three ladies and was about to marry the fourth one happens to be Yousuf Hyder from Balahonnur. When he sensed that the information that he was preparing to marry the fourth lady from Kalasa town had leaked to some people, he escaped from Kalasa.

The man had entered the wedded life by marrying a lady from Ballupet, Sakleshpur taluk, Hassan. After she had two children, he ran away and married a lady from Handuguli village, Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru district. Within six months, he fled from there. He kept his earlier marriages a secret when marrying a lady from Aldoor, Chikkamagaluru taluk. He lived with that lady for four years, got a daughter from her, and went away. Now he went away from Balehonnur after coming to know that the fourth girl had been tipped about his earlier married life. This time he chose a lady who already has a child from her first marriage.

He is said to be adept at cheating the ladies after convincing them to marry him and also to pay him dowry. He also reportedly is good at claiming himself to be a sorcerer and using the woman customers, say the wives whom he has deserted. His first wife had to undergo mental torture from him while the second one is working for others to eke out a living.

When he married for the third time by covering up earlier marriages, he collected gold, ornaments etc worth Rs 1.5 lac. Now the lady who has gone back to her parental home with a daughter, has become listless about her future. The father of the lady he chose for the fourth marriage brought Yousuf to the police station and urged them to take action against him. As the man has not faced any problem from legal agencies so far, it has to be seen whether the father of the fourth lady will be able to get him punished.
