Vijayapura: 'Extend scheme meant for sick Muslim women to everyone' – BJP MLA Yatnal

Daijiworld Media Network - Vijayapura (SP)

Vijayapura, Aug 26: BJP legislator representing the city constituency here, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, urged the government to withdraw the scheme meant for extending financial assistance of up to one lac rupees to Muslim women suffering from major health complications, and introduce a fresh scheme by covering people from all the castes, communities and religions.

Yanal has written to the chief minister as well as the minister for women and child welfare department, expressing his displeasure at the efforts being made by the BJP government to appease the Muslims in this way and by giving them preferential treatment over the others.

"Cancer is a disease that afflicts people from all the poor people irrespective of their castes, creeds, religions etc. Therefore, the government should cover all the poor people holding BPL cards under the said scheme," he demanded.

He asked the government to stop discriminating and extend the benefit of the scheme to every citizen who suffers from cancer instead of restricting it to only Muslims. Otherwise, there will not be any difference between our government and the ones run by other parties, he pointed out in a release.

Well said Yatnal !!! We don't need anything caste based subsidy. Rather it should be for all. If previous government has done it 50 years back then there might be some reason for that. However it should be implemented for all needy rather than single caste. When in india these caste based analysis will finish we will develop and progress in life.

why selective remuneration ..if intentions are good make a critical insurance policy to all poor people irrespective of caste creed and religion and let govt pay the premium ..instead of promising one lac and making them run pillar to post to get it ..

Please read the article properly, he is right no scheme should be religion specific or caste specific, schemes should cover all the people, I think you should not comment if you do not understand what Yatnal stated.

Who this Ytnal guy is kidding ?. They have BJP government at Centre and state. Did they give these special payments to Muslim women?. If true have they been fooling other voters?. This is ploy by BJP before the elections to turn people against Muslims and polarisation o their vote banks.

This time I will agree with Mr. Yatnal. Because financially weak sections are there in every community, cast & creed and they deserve financial help. There should be equal justice to all as citizens of of India. This way politicians should raise their voice... but one more thing we need to remember please do not target any community.
