Aug 26: DK reports 269 corona cases, Udupi adds 113; 12 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 26: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, August 26 reported 269 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,08,952.

The positivity rate of the district is 2.51%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 14,97,091 samples have been tested, of which 13,88,139 are negative.

There are currently 2,711 active cases in the district. As many as 328 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday and raising the number of recoveries to 1,04,683.

The district recorded ten deaths due to coronavirus on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,558.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,04,39,620 in fines for 85,849 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 9,23,145 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 113 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 7,03,298 out of which 1585 are currently active.

A total of 112 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total recoveries to 71,266.

Coronavirus has claimed 447 lives in the district so far.

6,35,013 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 2,42,075 have received the second dose.
