Don't agree with home minister's take on Mysuru gang rape case: Bommai

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday stated that he does not agree with the statements of Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on the Mysuru gang rape case.

"I will not agree with his statements. I have directed him to clarify the issue. He has made those statements while reacting to the criticism by the opposition parties and I don't agree with his statements," he said.

Jnanendra has said that the gang rape has taken place in Mysuru and opposition Congress is "raping him" in the state capital. He also said that the girl should not have gone to such a lonely place late in the evening.

Bommai also directed the police department to report to him directly on the gang-rape case. "I have spoken to ADGP Pratap Reddy, who is heading the investigation and told him to consider the case seriously. The same has been communicated to the state police chief," he said.

The police are in touch with the victim, her male friend and their parents. The investigation is being conducted on the available information. "Our government considers such incidents with at most seriousness," he added.

There is some honesty in his statement. Please do not make harassment of the male friend of the girl to save the culprit and hide the weakness of police & political leaders. We should be safe in our country at any time anywhere. To go anywhere in our country home ministers permission not required because this is MY COUNTRY not HOME MINSTERS COUNTRY.

"Bachao, Beti Padhao is a campaign of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls in India." And just watch around how far ladies are taken care. Things are making ladies suffer and feel insecure any given time any where. Even anymals are protected and loved well.

I appreciate our CM atleast he has the courage to say he doesn't agree with Home minister . We have a good CM after a long time. He seems educated and well spoken. And for some of our illiterate ministers one cant help it as we have elected them. We should also understand that there are these pathetic predators everywhere and its not magic for the police to catch them in one day. Its not a easy task. I am sure those culprits will be caught soon. That way the people of Karnataka are still sane in their heads.

incompetent govt. and ministers. how can HM say such statement, it clearly shows that they are supporting rapists. shame on such ministers and govt. Most of the bhakts wants to be Karnataka like UP models. This is the UP model because crime and rape are highest in UP and ministers are government supports the rapists.

Many bhakts wanted Karnataka to turn into another UP. Looks like their wish is coming true. Now we have gang-rapes, fake arrest of minorities by NIA, callous remarks by HM blaming the victim. All now is left is another Yogiji as Chief Minister.

Because of a Nirbaya case in Delhi , these BJP incompetent were ushered into power and now such cases of even worse magnitudes are seen every day.. BJP should just resign and let the rest of us at least survive in this muck they made of our nation.. To save face, somebody will be arrested, encountered saying he snatched arms to flee, Case closed. Recall what happened in Hadabad . In Hadadabad all accused were encountered for the reason they snatched the arms and started to flee... The statement "there were many such cases during the Congress "regime"! clearly explains the deploring situation
