Aug 27: DK reports 248 corona cases, Udupi adds 106; two deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 27: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, Aug 27 reported 248 new coronavirus cases and one death, while Udupi registered 106 new cases and one death.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 15,09,045 samples have been tested so far, out of which 13,99,845 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,09,200 out of which 2,675 are currently active.

As many as 283 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

The district recorded one death due to coronavirus on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,559.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,04,48,320 as fine in 85,936 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 9,31,317 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 106 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 73,404 out of which 1,503 are currently active.

A total of 187 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Out of 106 new patients, 85 are in home isolation while 21 are in Covid-designated hospitals.

Among the 106 cases, as many as 52 are symptomatic and 54 are asymptomatic.

While Udupi reported 52 new cases, Kundapur registered 31 and Karkala 22 and one case was from out of district.

Coronavirus has claimed 448 lives in the district so far, including one on Friday. The person’s who died on Friday was from Udupi.

So far, 6,66,046 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 2,50,863 have received the second dose.

A total of 52 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far, out of which, 2 are currently active.

    No use of giving daily this figure. First of all control SALOON , MORNING AND EVENING rush in the city buses , college and schools must make responsible if any students get Covid19 system. They must keep daily routine check of those have symptoms. Take above measures strictly, definitely results will be better.
