Mangalore: Mata Amritanandamayi Birthday Celebrations on October 10

Mangalore, Oct 7: The 57th birthday celebrations of spiritual leader, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), will be organized on Sunday October 10 at the Brahmasthana premises of Amritanandamayi Mutt at Boloor in the city at 9 am. This was informed by president of Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti, Dr Sanant Hegde, at a press conference held here on Wednesday October 6.

He said that Swami Sri Poornamritananda Puri, a senior disciple of Mata Amritanandamayi, will take part in the celebrations. He said that Puri is a great orator and that he has been serving as the general secretary of Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt and providing guidance and direction to various projects undertaken by Amma through her Ashram in Kochi, Amrita Institute of Medical Science, various other educational institutions and several spiritual and social service programmes being undertaken on her behalf.

At 9.45 am, Puri will convey the message of Amma on her birthday, and then deliver a discourse . The meeting being held the same day at 11.30 am will be presided over by minister, J Krishna Palemar, while MLA, N Yogish Bhat, will participate as the chief guest, he explained.

Samiti honorary president, Dr Jeevaraj Sorake, Madhava Suvarna and Vishwanath Putran were present at the press conference.
