Tukde-tukde article writer of Panchjanya is crazy: Mohandas Pai

Bengaluru, Sep 8 (IANS): Hitting back at the author of Panchajanya article attacking software giant Infosys, T.V. Mohandas Pai, current Chairman of Manipal Global Education and former director of Infosys, said the author is a crazy fellow.

Talking to IANS, he said that Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy is very upset and hurt over the scathing attacks on him by RSS-affiliate Panchajanya magazine.

"This is a crazy fellow. I don't know who the writer is, I don't know what his name is. He must be demented for having made such comments. That's why people must write to the editor and tell him to withdraw the article." the Padma Shri awardee said.

Asked if there is any agenda behind the write-up, he maintained, "I don't think there is an agenda for it. I just think they are crazy writers who want to prove that they are more nationalist than anyone else," he added.

He further said, it's wrong for the Panchjanya to launch such an attack on Narayana Murthy. "I am in touch with him and I know he is very hurt. Because you can always be critical but not abusive like this. Tukde-tukde gang has not done anything for the country, but this man Murthy is from different background," he explained.

When asked about how the company is looking at the allegations, he said, "I think the employees of Infosys are very angry and upset at these stupid charges. It will not impact their work or performance, but certainly, they will have negative opinion towards Panchjanya. There are 2.80 lakh employees in Infosys. With their families, they make up 12 lakh people. They are a very large group and you are abusing all of them for nothing, he pointed out.

The company's reputation has been totally tarnished, the people of the country are with Narayan Murthy. He is one of the largest job creators of India. You can criticise Infosys for making mistakes and they will fix it, that is very correct. But you can't call them anti-national and all that rubbish, Pai maintained.

Yes, the portal is not working properly and they are fixing it. But you can't call them anti-national. I think we should all talk to them and tell them to withdraw the article, he opined.

He further clarified the concern raised by the union finance ministry, saying it is a very complex process. It's extremely complex, it will take time to fix it. My personal view is there has been inadequate testing by the department. After the software is delivered, the department has to test whether it has reached the niche. They have probably not tested it enough. The software was released prematurely. There will be some bugs they have to take care of and they are taking care of them.

Asked about Union Minister for Finance Nirmala Sitharaman's statement on Infosys, he said, "I don't want to comment on the union finance minister's statement. Because the finance minister has been very supportive and I don't want to comment. She is reacting to criticism that's all."

Reacting to the Panchajanya magazine defending the article against Infosys, he explained that, the person who wrote it must be a crazy fellow, he does not understand anything. "I think we should ask the editor to withdraw it. I think they must write to Panchjanya and tell them it is very unfair. Its a big company from Karnataka. These fellows are attacking it for nothing," he opined.

When asked about whether RSS has got anything to do with it, he said, "I don't think it's the view of the RSS. It's only the view of the Panchajanya. People of Karnataka should protest against it," he said.

Talking about questions being raised on recruitment to Infosys, he answered that "every appointment is made on merit. I don't know what they are talking about."

It hurts industrialists, it hurts job creators because they don't like this. No company or industrialist is anti-national. You can call politicians anti-national, media anti-national because it is building public opinion right or wrong. You can call political leaders whatever you want, but why do you call an industrialist anti-national, it's stupid, he said.

Commenting on comparing the company with Naxals and tukde tukde gang, Mohandas Pai replied, "Tell me if any responsible person makes such a statement, what will come to your mind? Crazy people. We are a free country what to do. It's very abusive. I think we have to criticise them and get along."

RSS has been denouncing various communities ranging from Christians, Dalits, Muslims and Adivasis as anti-nationals for a long time. Sanghis' venom against so called anti-nationals intensified after 2014. Now that the Sanghi's vitriol is directed at Infosys, Mr. Pai suddenly discovers that a writer at the RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya is crazy. Welcome to the club, Mr. Pai.

This truly reflects the mindset of narrow minded RSS breed. Mohandas Pai is a vivid supporter of entire brigade and now when his mentor and the company which gave him the identity is called anti-national Pai Maam feels it is crazy. Is this the way you condemn such a ghasty comment. On all other matters where opposition parties are involved Pai Maam has a bundle of vocab to condemn. Hypocracy exposed.

What Mohandas Pai has said about writer of Panchajanya article is absolutely true. About Income tax / GST portal, all glitches are because of our complex and frequent changes. There should be stability of policies and law. Yes all laws are dynamic changes do happen, but changes should be made only once, during budget, beginning of the year. Changes should be as minimum as possible. No portal, software can accommodate past records, accomodate so many current changes and accomodate future changes without glitches. Can a builder / plant Engineers accomodate several changes after the initial plan finalized? Common sense. There should be a limit to changes.

Why RSS and govt are not coming out and clarifying thier position in this regard??????. Freedom of speech and freedom of press doesn’t give right to abuse others and make unfounded unproven allegations. Govt finger prints are seen in this usual slandering its opponents tactics of this govt like using drunkard to vandalize churches and placing slain cow head in temples by its own bhakths.

The BJP and the RSS we have all observed since past seven years have indulged in Lies, Falsehoods and Slander including what all people have labelled as Feku. No wonder that they show scant regard to Institutions of International repute that have made India Proud to tarnish its reputation through such slander. How come the BJP and the RSS are maintaining a deafening silence on this issue.

About RSS Article on Infosys, I do not agree with the views of the Writer’s Personal opinion about the contents of the article, Having said that Infosys should have been more careful in implementing the Tax portal of both GST & Direct Taxes, looks like they gave 60 % of their attention to it , which I believe is not correct because India is big country and they had to more responsible in their implementation. According to my observation Infosys cannot execute Mega Projects be it be GST Portal, Income Tax Portal, MCA, Erstwhile Syndicate Bank and Present Canara Bank, Banking part of Indian Posts, Erstwhile Corporation Bank to name a few. TCS is by far is very good in executing Government Jobs Like our Passport Issuance, Operations part of Indian Posts or the famous TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthana) or the erstwhile Income tax Portal to name a few. Such Articles will have a Deep impact on our fragile economy which is now slowly recovering after a 2nd wave. Also we cannot ignore the contribution of Infosys to our economy, why even my childhood friends who are working in Infosys have contributed greatly by way of participating in the nation building Process by way of their personal contributions by way of Taxes. @ CA Krishna Sir.., with all due respect to your personal views & opinions...., though I am not from your professional fraternity..., in my view..., there is an equal merit in knowing the Govt's/bureaucratic machinery's obligation in extending their support to know & fix the problem with greater degree of transparency.., It's even more important to recognize the fact that in a Digital era..., Hindustan's IT Dept. is more vigil with the use of Data Analytics (& with the help of algorithms) proactively tracking & tracing transactions/information to know the transaction substance from Tax Evasion perspective.., the system is designed to track transactions from various other domains …, With this kind of sophisticated system enhancement for better governance & accountability, it is equally incumbent upon the Govt of the Day to be more supportive in its effort to get the best from one of the best IT company of the World where high IQ guys are working on their payroll..., In regards to RSS mouth piece it is less talk the more better.., knowing fully well their obsession to measure everything with the yardstick of nationalism....,the comments are premature/unwarranted and expecting something noble is hilarious.., DNA itself is a toxic one..., dis-owning is very convenient after breeding/mentoring/promoting its hidden ideology… in the minds of innocent citizens....

Sir, Please note that in every project, there are user requirements defined by the user. Once the application is ready is system acceptance test, stress test.. penetration test..etc by the developer and finally end- user testing which is normally done by the user side. Once they sign-off these tests, then only a project can be rolled out. So for IT website glitches, you can't blame Infosys alone. It's collective lapse from all parties involved.

Yes. it is wrong to be abusive unless there are any concrete material to make a conclusion. However, i must say that MCA portal managed by Infosys is very poor. many have nightmarish experiences. the stakes of non compliances are very high. there are too many technical glitches besides it being non user friendly. However, the IT site was relatively better. but now that has gone for a toss.

No Portal or software can work correctly, without glitches, if reckless changes in the laws are made. Yes, Laws are dynamic, changes are required during due course of time, but such changes should be once a year. There should be stability of policies. Reckless changes are indication of unstable mind, reason for all chaos.

Infosys may have nothing to do with naxals and Shri Narayan Murthy is a man who is respected by one and all, but the way this new income tax efiling portal is made with so many glitches even after 3 years that the contract was awarded, and 3 months after the portal was launched without "Software Testing" which is an essential part of the software development life cycle, suggests that it is no more the Infosys that She Murthy had built from scratch, same is true for the GST portal by the same company. May be because Nilekeni had contested as a Congress candidate, the ruling party wants to blame Congress for the problems taxpayers are facing, or is it something more than meets the eye...

This is what happens when you breed snakes in our house to attack you neighbour. One or other day snake will someone in your house. Seems like New Income Tax Portal was not tested in testing environment properly by the business(in this case Central Govt) and it was signed off for launching. Now when users are facing issues, govt cannot blame Infosys directly, because mistake is from thier end. Infosys will reveal the reason in open, because they might loose govt contracts for future or face legal action. How does BJP put the failure on someone else's head?? They ask an unknown writer to publish an article and make it viral through IT cell. They everybody claims that they do not agree with views of the writer. However message is gone out to public and Infosys image has been damaged already.
