Sep 8: DK reports 200 corona cases, four deaths; Udupi adds 173 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 8: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, September 8 reported 200 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 1.61%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 16,37,764 samples have been tested so far, out of which 15,26,022 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,11,743, out of which 2,131 are currently active.

As many as 318 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 108008.

The district recorded 4 deaths due to coronavirus on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,604.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,05,77,870 in fines for 86,854 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 10,24,924 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 173 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 74,732 out of which 1,368 are currently active.

A total of 177 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 72,906 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 268 lives in the district.
