Dubai: Surathkal Parishioners Form Association in UAE

Dubai, Oct 10: The parishioners of Sacred Heart Church, Suratkal, Mangalore diocese residing in the UAE held the inaugural meet of their newly formed association at Winny’s Restaurant, Karama, Dubai here.
During the meeting, it was announced and unanimously agreed to name the association as “Emirates Surathkal Parishioners Association” (ESPA). Thus, it was a day of joy and happiness to all the
parishioners and a show of unity far away from the native place. The main objective of the meeting was to provide a platform to the parishioners residing in the UAE to meet and help each other and also the parish back home.
The announcement in Daijiworld received tremendous response from the parishioners and over 57 members of the parish residing in various places in UAE gathered for the first meet.
The event was led by Roydon Roche who gave a brief introduction of the association and also explained the motive of the meeting followed with the prayer by Wilson Crasta. Sunil Pinto welcomed the gathering and briefed the members on the need for such a forum. Each member was
given a chance to introduce themselves and also the members put forth their views on the formation, objective and the future of the association with their unique ideas and opinions.
Under the guidance of Charles Aranha a new committee was formed and the following office-bearers were unanimously elected.
