Kasargod: West Bengal based worker drowns in sea near Bekal

Kasargod, Oct 4: A construction worker lost his life after he reportedly drowned in the sea at Bekal here on Sunday October 3. His mortal remains were recovered on Monday October 4.

The deceased has been identified as Nafizul Islam (19), a resident of Murshidabad in West Bengal. 

It is gathered, he had got down into the sea on Sunday evening and was reported missing after getting caught in the ferocious sea waves. The people nearby had made unsuccessful attempts to rescue him. Finally, the police department was informed.

The coast guard police and life guards looked for him till late night but was not found. They resumed their search on Monday morning and found his lifeless body stuck in the rocks near Kotikulam. The body was shifted to Kasargod general hospital morgue.

“The mortal remains will be handed over to his relatives after their arrival after the post-mortem,” said the police.
