Karkala: St Lawrence Basilica, Nitte village panchayat jointly organize Swachch Bharath Abhiyan

Karkala, Oct 5: ICYM, YCS of St Lawrence Basilica, Women organization and Nitte village panchayat jointly organized the Swachch Bharath Abhiyan as a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebration.

Fr Alban Dsouza, the rector of St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur launched the cleanliness drive. In his message said, "If people protected and nurtured the nature and lead a harmonious life, would be a true respect to this nation and Gandhiji's principle being followed."

Satish, president, Nitte village panchayat, members Nitin Salian, Surendra Amin, Ashwitha Kudva and church organizations participated voluntarily in the drive.

The alumni of the 1979 - 1980 batch of Attur School, led by Jokim Pinto, Commercial tax officer Karkala participated in the cleanup campaign, which received lot of appreciation.

    Very much delighted to know the good thought of our dear Rev Fr Alban D'Souza Rector of St Lawrence Basilica, initiated the Cleanliness Drive at our Nitte Village and the surrounding areas, organising " Swachch Bharat Abhiyan " for the benefit of that large Community. Steps of this type if initiated everywhere will not only give an uplift face of that area with cleanliness drive and keep the people healthy always. I WISH TO THANK ALL THOSE PERSONS INVOLVED ACTIVELY IN THIS WAY. VERY GOOD FOR YOU AS WELL FOR US ALL - MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
