Mangaluru, Oct 5: In a shocking incident, two people fired gunshots at a businessman on Tuesday October 5. The businessman’s son was injured in the incident.
Vaishnavi X'press Cargo Private Limited's owner Rajesh Prabhu and his son were at home on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, Prabhu's wife telephoned him and informed that two of the drivers from the company, Chandra and Ashraf, had come to the office and were verbally abusing. Soon after, Prabhu and his son both rushed to the spot.
A verbal clash took place between Prabhu and the drivers. One of the drivers snatched a gun from Prabhu's pocket and tried to fire at him. In the melee, Prabhu's son came in the line of fire. The bullet fired by the driver hit Prabhu's son head. He was rushed to hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
Immediately after incident, both the drivers escaped on a bike. Police are on the lookout for the absconding duo.
Meanwhile, the police in a press release informed, “In the incident which took place under south police station limits, one boy name Sudhindra who is studying in 10th standard is very seriously injured with the bullet fired from his father Rajesh Prabhu's point 32 bore pistol Indian model which is having validity up to July 31, 2022 and with the area validity of Karnataka state.
“Upon the interrogation of Rajesh Prabhu, it is found that two boys, Chandru and Ashraf, working as driver and cleaner in one of the luggage carrier vehicle, had been for one trip and were demanding Rs 4,000 since the last two days as their wage. Today, when they started screaming before the wife of Rajesh Prabhu, she called her son, who along with his father, came to the office which is very next to the residence. There was a commotion and Rajesh Prabhu took out the weapon and fired two rounds of which one has hit his son Sudhindra who is critically injured and now admitted at a private hospital in the city. A case is taken up upon the complaint of the manager of Rajesh Prabhu and FIR registered at south police station. The FSL team has been called and necessary procedures of investigation is taken up,” stated the press note.
