Mangaluru, Oct 6: The nine-day Navaratri festival is inching closer. Though the pandemic has restricted the celebrations in comparison to the earlier days, the public has come up with alternative ideas to celebrate the festival with different styles of photoshoots. It has turned out to be a trend conducting photoshoots dressed up like Goddess Sharada which is eye-catching.

Chetana S, proprietor of the renowned Chetana's Beauty Lounge located at Bendorewell, came up with an idea of Sharada Jalli during the festival featuring a mother-daughter duo from Mangaluru.

Kavitha Devadiga and her daughter Aishwarya Devadiga look stunning in the Sharada Jalli photoshoots on the eve of Navaratri. Hailing from Kadri Kambla, Kavitha Devadiga is a house wife and her 9-year-old daughter Aishwarya Devadiga is studying at Lourdes Central School.

The duo, inspired by seeing the photoshoot of Sharada Jalli which was initiated by Chetana Beauty Lounge last month, decided to do the same during the festival time.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Aishwarya Devadiga said, “I am very happy to be part of the Sharada Jalli concept which is also my mother’s dream. I have been learning dance at Nupura Academy under Sulochana Bhat for five years. Meanwhile, I am also learning music and to play the Veena. I thank everyone who supported us in the concept.

Kavitha Devadiga said, “I was inspired by the Sharada Jalli photoshoot and thought of doing the same. I approached Chetana S, the proprietor of Chetana Beauty Lounge two weeks ago. I was ready to be a part of this concept. Credit goes to Chetana S who came up with an idea to make it a mother-daughter concept. I have received tremendous support from my husband Prashant Raj and my family. We are also going to perform a dance featuring one- year-old Chiranth Y Devadiga which will be uploaded on Aishwarya K Devadiga’s YouTube channel.

Chetana S said, “We had conducted a Sharadha Jalli class last month which received tremendous response all over the state. Similarly, when Kavitha approached us for a similar kind of concept, we included her daughter as well. It took nearly 4 hours for the makeup and the outcome has been good. It is a complete team work to execute the plan which gave more importance given to the cultural theme. The team includes Ashwini Pavithra Alva, Prathibha Dayanand Kukkaje, Reshma Salian Mulky and the staff of Chetana's Beauty Lounge who worked relentlessly for the end result.

Chetana S is also grateful to photographer Vivek Sequeira and Rohit Mangalore from Focul Lens for capturing the moments of Sharada Jalli.
