Mangaluru: 34-year-old Herman Joyson Lobo held for online share trading fraud

Mangaluru, Oct 7: A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with fraud in online share trading at north police station here.

The arrested has been identified as Herman Joyson Lobo from Beltangady.

Herman was arrested by Delhi police at Delhi airport on October 3. Mangaluru police had earlier issued a lookout notice against Herman. Hence he was brought to Mangaluru.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, “Herman has allegedly cheated people of over Rs 50 lac through online share trading. It is learnt that he took Rs 50 lac from two people by asking them to invest. There is information that he has cheated 20 to 30 people.

“He used to cheat people by asking them to invest and also by claiming that the money invested will be doubled along with the payment of good interest. He also returned back money with interest to those invested less money to gain their confidence. Once they start investing higher amounts, Herman used to cheat them,” he said.

It is gathered that after Herman’s arrest, one person has come forward and filed complaint against him. The police commissioner has urged people cheated by Herman to come forward to file complaint.

Joyson is a very good and honest person. His intention was never to cheat anyone. Because of the fluctuations in the share market, especially during covid, all this has happened. Before covid and also for some after that he has given what he had promised. I feel people must understand his situation. During the lockdown time, all businesses suffered and it was a tough time for everyone. Joyson should not be punished for this. I request everyone to not make any assumptions. The reality is something different which everyone doesn't know. Thank you to all the people who have supported him and actually spoken the truth.

I advise people to invest after looking at facts like EMA cross, bollingerband and other such graphs, company financials and long term investment. this is how you invest in stock market. Just opena demat account from reputed financial managements. dont fall for trap like these. invest only what you can. profit making in share market is actually a long term affair, rarely does Intraday work, especially when you check graphs

He was my team leader when i was working in STFC Co in Mangalore. He was so Honest and decent man, by looking at this news i couldnt believe my eyes. Its mentioned that he returned back money with interest to those invested less money. Hopefully his intention was not to cheat. He might have been victim of sudden market fluctuation, It seems He needed some more time to set back.

Il tell you what might have happened.. This guy may not be a cheat nor may have had cruel or wicked intentions. He is a broker with ordinary trading skills. He might have asked people to invest in his firm thinking he will leverage the money and make money for himself and his clients. But with not so good skills he has lost the money as speculation leads to panic buy/sell which most of the time results in wiping your entire portfolio. Thats it..as there is no chance to recover the money, the only thing you can do is RUN...NEVER EVER TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR FRIENDS , RELATIVES OR OTHER PEOPLE PROMISING THEM OF RETURNS, EVEN IF YOU ARE AS SKILLED AS PORINJU VELIYATH.ITS NOT WORTH PLAYING WITH OTHER PEOPLE MONEY
