Brahmavar, Oct 7: A woman who had been attacked by a wild boar in Kudrumanebettu area within Vaddarse gram panchayat limits near here lost her battle for life on Wednesday October 6.

The victim of this unfortunate incident was Kamala Devadiga (65). Reportedly, the attack happened about a week ago. She was being treated in a private hospital at Koteshwar. Failing to respond to treatments, she breathed her last on Wednesday.

Kamala Devadiga was on her way to the family's paddy fields to check the standing crops in Kudrumanebettu area in Vaddarse village when a wild boar ambushed her. Most bones in several parts of her body suffered fractures. She was admitted into a hospital where the doctors tried their best to save her life.

Locals blame department

Wild boars have become a menace for the people living in the area. These animals destroy crops on a large scale. Even though the locals keep informing the media and alerting the forest department, the officials have failed to act, and due to their apathy, incidents of this kind have been happening, ,the locals say. The wild boars, in addition to destroying crops, have also been endangering human lives. The callous attitude of the local administration and concerned department towards addressing this problem has given rise to anger among the people, who have expressed the same through social websites.

The people have warned that they will initiate protests if the local administration fails to take preventive measures even after repeatedly alerting them about the problem. Similar problem has also been witnessed on Moodugiliyaru village in Kota gram panchayat. Everywhere, lot of crops and plantations are getting damaged by the wild boars and a person had suffered grievous injuries after having been knocked down by a wild boar in that village sometime back. However after treatment, he recovered.

Manjunath Poojary from Kudrumanebettu in Vaddarse said that wild boars in large numbers have been moving around in the village and most of the agricultural lands have been destroyed by them. He said that they have accounted for the life of a woman now. Poojary pointed out that the wild boars, which even move around during the day, have instilled fear among the villagers who are frightened to even go out. He said that their very existence and life in the village are facing a threat and urged the government to act fast.

Very sad.Humans have to leave place to these wild animals.Better bring a wild cat cheeta and let at night.Otherwise these govt servants are not able to control them.Or keep some Pataki .but that too will be for short time. When they have small ones they are agressive.Attack and kill.By such good cultivation no wonder people hunger and wild boars family grows.Noone around any licence to shoot?May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.

Just give permits to hunters who relish its meat thereby ending the menace they pose for the people & their agricultural fields.

Some one just commented about pork curry here. What is wrong with such people? How insensitive can one get? Just because you have a keyboard with internet connection does not mean you can continue writing nonsense in articles here. And there other people also who support this same guy and chat with him here.
