Mangaluru/Udupi,Oct 14: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, October 14 reported 40 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.51%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 19,80,467 samples have been tested so far, out of which 18,65,473 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,14,994 out of which 373 are currently active.

As many as 45 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 112947.

The death in the district on Thursday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,674.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,07,14,570 in fines for 88,218 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 11,76,145 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 7 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 76,550 out of which 80 are currently active.

A total of 8 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 75,996 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 284 lives in the district.
