Udupi, Oct 26: For the last two months, garbage that has not been disposed of for the last two months has got accumulated in a building belonging to Udyavar gram panchayat. The building has a huge heap of putrid waste that gives out unbearable stench. People are angry and aghast at the negligence of the panchayat towards their problems.

The panchayat officials have overlooked the fact that Anganwadi centre functions right next to the nauseating building. Anganwadi staff are unable to have food because of the problem of mosquitoes and houseflies.

The panchayat used to dump its garbage into the Alevoor dumping yard. For the last two months, the disposal of waste has got stranded and the problem is turning worse by the day.

The officials have not done anything to address the problem even though the issue has been taken up by the authorities. The panchayat has apparently turned dumb and blind to the problems of the people.
