Mangaluru, Oct 30: A programme to pay seventh day’s homage to the soul of department parish priest of Kinnigoli church Fr Mathew Vas was held at Kinnigoli church.

Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha offered Mass. In the homage that followed after the Mass, former president of Catholic Sabha L J Fernandes said that Fr Mathew Vas has contributed immensely to the society. “His contribution as the spiritual director of Catholic Sabha was great. He was down to earth and hugely concerned about the poor,” he said. Jacinta Mathais paid tributes on behalf of the Kinnigoli parish.

Catholic Sabha central president Stany Lobo welcomed. Fr Oswal Monteiro offered prayers. Former MLC Ivan D’Souza, former central president Rolphy D’Costa and others were present.

Vincent Mathias rendered a vote of thanks. Alphonso Lobo compered the programme. The programme was held by Mangaluru Pradesh Catholic Sabha.
