Karkala, Oct 31: A complaint is filed in rural police station of the taluk on three men who threatened a crusher owner and demanded extortion money from him.
As per the details available, Nithyananda Shetty, owner of Durga crusher and resident of Belman, has filed a complaint against Ravi Shetty of Byndoor accusing them of threatening him.
On October 10, accused Ravi Shetty called complainant NIthyananda Shetty and said that he has to speak to him. Later, Ravi came to Belman on October 26 and said that Nithyananda and Lancy D’Costa have to give him Rs 10 lac from the crusher business. Ravi Shetty said that he is executive president of labour parishad of Karnataka and he has to give a monthly salary of Rs 15000 to two of the office staff in Udupi. Nithyananda Shetty refused to accept his demand.
On Saturday, October 30, accused Ravi Shetty, along with two others, came to the spot of the crusher and clicked the photographs and obstructed the work. When the complainant questioned, they threatened him to pay Rs five lac or they will send the photographs to the concerned.
Complainant Nithyananda Shetty duly filed a complaint of threat on Ravi Shetty Byndoor and two others. Police are investigating further.
