6.1 magnitude quake jolts eastern Indonesia


Jakarta, Nov 3 (IANS): An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 rocked Indonesia's eastern province of Maluku on Tuesday and no tsunami warning was issued, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.

The quake, which occurred at 23:43 p.m. Jakarta time (1643 GMT), was centered 137 km northwest Maluku Tenggara Barat district with a depth of 123 km, Xinhua news agency reported.
