Udupi, Nov 8: Like elsewhere in the state, Anganwadis in the district started functioning from Monday November 8.

The centres wore a festive look and the staff extended a warm welcome to the children by offering sweets and roses.

Udupi district deputy commissioner and chief executive engineer of the zilla panchayat visited the Anganwadi centres and extended a warm welcome to the children.

The Anganwadis are we experiencing the footfalls of the children after a gap of 18 months. Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Naveen Bhat, stated that depending on the situation prevailing them, facility of providing nutritious food to the children will begin at the centres after 15 days.

    "Arrangements have been made for the children to maintain one meter distance in seating. If the number of students is more than the available space, the children will be made to attend the sessions on alternate days." ???????????????
