Mangaluru, Nov 8: District BJP president Sudarshan Moodbidri demanded reduction of taxes on fuel prices in Congress-ruled states. He also said that there is no connection between BJP’s defeat in by-election and reduction in fuel prices.

Addressing media here on Monday November 8, he said, “The Congress is spreading misinformation regarding reduction in fuel prices. There is no reduction in taxes in the states where the Congress is ruling. People from Kasargod and Manjeshwar are coming to Mangaluru to fill their vehicle tanks.

“The Congress has alleged that BJP’s defeat in the by-election led to the reduction of fuel prices, but in reality there is no connection between BJP’s defeat and tax cut in fuel prices. Prior to the by-election, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai had speculated about the reduction in petrol prices. The BJP have come to the streets to serve people. The Congress have come to the streets only to protest,” he said.

On an MLA’s remark on Savarkar’s name being given to a circle in the city, he said, “What is wrong in Savarkar’s name? He is not a traitor. It is unfortunate that some people are terming him a traitor. No one is raising their voice when the roads and circles are named after those who ruled this country and looted, but many object to the name of a national leader who fought for this county’s independence. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel wants to rename certain places or circle after US Mallya, George Fernandes and Rani Abbakka. When we named a road after Mulki Sundaram Shetty, many objected to it. Only British knew the capability of Savarkar, so he was in Kalapani prison. The Congress and Communists did not know about his capabilities."

Instead of this be fair to ask cental government and your own n BJP government to include fuel petrol diesel gas under GST so that there can not be discrepancy and all states ruled by BJP with some exceptions. The government which can not listen to farmers praising Shastri ji can do it

BJP reduced fuel prices due to kicking they got from people in elections. It’s not so for in Non-BJP states because they have lowered prices before the elections so people have voted them to power. Crude is imported by the central govt and distributed to states with price fixed by the central govt. so, it will take time for Non-ruled states to further reduce prices and to cope with centre’s price and adjust with new imports. Don’t challenge the opposition while you have all the power. BJP, learn from the Feed Back by the people. Don’t beat your own drum.

Those are 2019 prices the present price is ranging from 109.72 to 110.88, please do not believe in any political party, they will never reduce the petrol prices, none of them will do it, as they need funds for their pet projects, so that their party cadre can win contracts and make money.

Why are you worrying about the other states. Do you think the prices would have got down if BJP had won the elections.
