Mangaluru: District administration felicitates Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba

Mangaluru, Nov 9: The district administration felicitated Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba here at deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday November 9.

Harekala Hajabba, received the 'Padma Shri' civilian honour from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, on November 8 at New Delhi and he received rousing welcome at Mangaluru International airport.

Deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra said, “It is proud moment for all of us with Harekala Hajabba receiving the Padma Shri. Hajabba has put forth a demand of starting a PU college. As per his demand, a proposal will be sent to the government soon.”

Harekala Hajabba said, “I am overwhelmed with the hospitality I have received. I cannot express the overall experience during the award ceremony. They have recognized a poor man from a village. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and everyone who supported me. This award is a treasure to me.”

    Where was our administration before ? Now waken up soo late after he got award from Central govt.? Belonging our district, why Shri Hajanabba was not felicitated ? Shame on us....🙈🙈

    He was felicitated in the past in also in local level events and by the administration. I guess he came to limelight around 2000. He also received state Rajyothsava award once. But recognizing him to the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, its really a honor to that award as well. Good to see commoners who have worked & achieved in their field getting recognized finally for such swards than family members nominating themselves and their kith's and kins. His fame may now help to realize some of his dream and requirement for his village and people as its really difficult to say NO to Padmashri Hajabba for any Govt officials.

    Look at his forehead, dark black mark, it is a mark of sajda (Praying). if we remember god and god will remember us , this is the way for success.

    Most important is, the reason for his accomplishment is that he has kept his religious practices as private affair. You never see him talking about religion or his god in public unlike others or even reference to it while talking to people or media despite he does not have any PR advisers to suggest choose diplomatic words in public engagements. His words come from his heart which is pure. That is more important. Even AQ no-2 Ayman al Zawahiri has thicker and darker mark than this, it doesn't make him (AAZ) holier than thou. Hajabba belives in " Kayaakave Kailaasa", work is worship. That's why he has reached this stage. God has tested him many times, put him to life in a poor family, lived his life in poverty, but that dint make him choose the wrong path as justification like how we see today. CAA protestors tried to lure him by playing cast card, to talk against the Govt, but he refused after learning heir intentions. He accepted his fate and chose the right meaning of versus which made him what he is today.
