Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 10: The BJP core committee has decided to finalise the names of its candidates for the elections being held for 25 seats in legislative council from local body constituencies. The names will be finalised by pooling district level opinions in the next two days. In most of the constituencies, two to three candidates are in the fray, and names will be finalised soon, the chief minister stated.

As some leaders from other parties have been in talks with the BJP, the legislators, MPs and presidents of the respective district units of the party have been asked to give their opinions on this issue.

The parties, in addition to facing the council elections, have to prepare for the zilla and taluk panchayat elections and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) election shortly. It is said that the concerned were advised to draft a programme to create awareness about the schemes implemented by the central land state governments.

Names of candidates in respect of the 25 legislative council seats will be finalised in two days, said chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, after the core committee meeting, Even though discussions were already held about the prospective candidates, it was decided at the meeting to collect opinions from the district level leaders after which the state president of the party will take a decision. The committee did not decide about allotment of tickets to leaders, crossing over from other parties.

For securing majority in the 75-seat legislative council, 38 seats are required. BJP has 32 seats. For getting absolute majority, it has to retain the current six seats from local bodies which are going to polls, and then win at least six more seats.

Notification for this election will be issued on November 16. November 23 will be the last date for filing of the nominations and November 24 is the deadline for withdrawal of nominations. Voting will take place from 8 am to 4 pm on December 10 while counting will be undertaken on December 14. The Congress has 29 seats and has the support of an independent. It has to win eight to nine seats besides retaining 14 seats it has from the local body constituencies.

Honestly, in the present scenario, in Karnataka, you never know, who belongs to which party ! Anybody willing to sleep with anyone for power !, Politics here has become a ' Brothel House ' The likes of G T Gowdas, Gulihattis, Yogeswsras, Coconut tree climbers Anandas, Munikantas, Gopalaihas rule roost and you never know in which party they are at any given time ! Forget you, they only don't know where they belong ! To add to this Tamashas are Jaaru Holis etc with their absolute ' third rate' extra curricular activities. Then there are samosa munching ' Hulia Julia ' jodi's always on the look out for ' commissions ' with ' jackpot ಬೊಮ್ಮ 'dancing in the aisle ! Here full ' ಪಿಲಿ ನಲಿಕೆ ' Can Karnataka ಓನ್ಲಿ be brought under President's rule?? Just asking.... Then in BBMP elections too anything may happen !! Mini Mini now mints money in Muncipal elections only ! Goes on talking nonsense and makes money any which way !! God save us !

Yes Agee. However, who's to tell? Come elections, and some leaders themselves turn into ' religious fancy dress competitors' ! One party scion has every religious attire, items stacked in his cupboard for election use. Dhoti, Kamandal, Jhenuv, Vibhuti, Rudraksh, skull cap, Cross, Chaadar, Langaar, etc to be opened during election times only. Others eat samosas ( 20 Rs 6 pieces I think )outside religious places and mumble rhyming lines inside hoping to pass them of as prayers. They think this ' special apoearance' is enough to fool people. All this should also stop. This same party scion says he is a ' Siddarth Kaulo Brahmin' during elections. Other times he is Pandit Christian Muslim rolled into one like say an Egg Roll... How?? Correct what you say.
