Mangaluru: Hit by concrete mix truck, scooter rider loses life

Mangaluru, Nov 11: A lady riding a scooter was killed after a concrete mix truck hit her vehicle. The incident took place at Padil on the national highway here.

The deceased has been identified as Poornima (34), an employee of a private hospital in the city. She was returning to her home in Kavoor after her duty hours when tragedy struck.

Poornima, who had sustained grievous injuries in the accident, breathed her last before reaching the hospital.

Poornima is survived by husband and a three-year-old daughter. A case in this connection has been registered at Kankanady police station.

    I have miraculously escaped, when a concrete mixer truck driver around Belthangady region was overtaking a vehicle without headlights and heading towards me at full speed. I slowed down and went outside the road to escape head on collusion. RTO, please check them.

    They should make slow lane for bus and trucks like modern cities and make the culprit pay blood money to the victims family or jail. This will bring down accidents. Also lane dividers can help. May her soul rest in peace !

    Patience and skill both required to ride scooters in India. Its common in India oncoming scooters and rickshaws disturbing the traffic and concentration of heavy drivers. Two wheelers,3 and slow drivers should drive always on the left side to save themselves and for free traffic flow. District administrators should be sensible on this matter.

    He already commented. And his comments are so valuable and got deep meaning. In Same road, this is second accident in few days both victims are ladies working for their families. For petty reasons, people are protesting Ex. Like some one speaking to somebody, media's highlight crimes of selected ilə. For this type incident s nobody responds..?
