Kundapur: Shivamogga MP Raghavendra, stands second in utilisation of MP funds

Kundapur, Nov 12: Members of the country's parliament are allotted local area development funds to implement projects that are useful for the people. As far as utilisation of these funds is concerned, Shivamogga Lok Sabha member, B Y Raghavendra, has been ranked second in the entire country.

Out of Rs 9.40 crore fund including five crore rupees for the year 2019-20 and Rs 4.40 crore unutilised fund, he has already utilised nine crore rupees. Rs 4.7 crore was spent towards public bus shelters, high mast light, school rooms and community halls, Rs 2.93 crore for road construction and Rs 82.5 lac towards corona management, ambulance and dialysis machine for health department including ambulance and dialysis machine. Rs 42 lac was spent for a drinking water unit, three-wheelers for the handicapped and such other useful projects, as a result of which Raghavendra has earned a lot of appreciation.

In order to control the spread of coronavirus infection and to improve the financial condition of the country, the central government had diverted the MPL funds for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 to manage the corona-hit financial situation.

Now the union government has taken the important decision to release two crore rupees for the current year. Raghavendra has appreciated Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and finance and corporate affairs state minister, Anurag Singh Thakur, for this gesture.
