Mangalore, Nov 15: Yenepoya University organized Nehru Cup – 2010, a Yenepoya Group staff Cricket tournament at the campus on Sunday November 14.
Tournament was inaugurated by Dr Ravi Vaswani, professor of medicine, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. In all six teams participated.
In the finals Kanara Wood XI defeated YMCH Maintenance with 9 wickets and received the Nehru Cup-2010 trophy. Rajesh of Kanara Wood bagged both Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards. Naser – Best Batsman, Lanchulal – Best Bowler and Kishor - Best Wicket Keeper got awards respectively for their performances.
In the prize distribution ceremony B B Thomas, coach Yenepoya University football team, Nithya, manager, Kanara Woods and Abubacker, Yenepoya University were present.
Azeez welcomed the guests and Vivek Nambiar, convenor of the tournament thanked and wished the guests and all the players.
