Karkala, Nov 17: On Tuesday November 16, a lorry coming towards Hebri from Shimoga at high speed, barged into a roadside hotel in Melbandimutt near Hebri, after its driver lost control over his vehicle. In the process, vehicles parked in front of the hotel and also the hotel, were badly damaged.
While a Tata Sumo vehicle was badly mangled, a Maruti car suffered damages. The wall, roof and furniture at the hotel were smashed in the process. A few customers, hotel owner and his child, who were inside the hotel at the time of the accident, escaped unhurt, miraculously. Lorry driver and its cleaner suffered minor injuries.
A case was registered by the Hebri policemen against the truck driver.
