Mangaluru: Malabar Gold & Diamonds distribute scholarships to deserving students

Mangaluru, Nov 30: As a part of CSR initiative of Education & Women Empowerment programme, scholarships were distributed to deserving higher secondary and degree college girl students by Malabar Gold & Diamonds. As many as 230 scholarships were given by the Mangaluru showroom. Similarly, their other outlets in Karnataka will be giving away scholarships at their respective regional level too.

The programme was presided by Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South, chief guests Premananda Shetty, mayor, Eric Ozario, Konkani cultural activist & gurkar of 'Mandd Sobhann', Recipient of Rajostsava Award-1993, Co-founder of 'Kalaangann' Konkani Heritage Center, 'Vishwa Konkani Kala Rathna', S M Rasheed Haji, founding chairman of Bearys Chamber Of Commerce, founding chairman SMR Builders, founding chairman of Mangalore Education Enhancement Trust, former chairman of DK Waqf Advisory Committee, recipient of Dakshina Kannada Rajyothsava Award, B M Mumthaz Ali, managing partner Mangalore Lime and Marine Industries, honorary president of Al Badriya Educational Institution, Krishnapura, president of Badriya Jumma Masjid Muslim Jamaath Krishnapura & Misbah Women's College, Katipalla, Muslim Educational Institution of Federation DK & Udupi district general secretary.
