Udupi, Nov 20: United Christian Association, Udupi–Kundapur north zone, will be inaugurated in a function to be held at Chethana High School, Hangarakatte, near Mabukula, on Sunday November 21 at 10.30 am.

Karnataka High Court retired Justice M F Saldanha will inaugurate the association.

Udupi zilla panchayat president Gladys D’Almeida will preside. Zilla panchayat member Gerald Fernandes, taluk panchayat member Veronica Cornelio, Konkani litterateur Maurice D’Sa, and ‘Dirvem’ Konkani weekly editor John A Monis will be the chief guests on the occasion.

Over 500 representatives from 25 parishes in Kundapur and Udupi taluks are expected to participate in the programme, stated Kundapur zonal representative Sylvester D’Souza in a press release.

The association aims at uniting the community, to create awareness on brotherhood, stage struggle for human rights and social justice, political awareness, and avail state benefits for the welfare of the community, added the release.
