Bangalore, Nov 21: Popular Front of India has announced a National Public Health Campaign to be held from Sunday Nov 21 to November 28. The aim of the campaign is to create public awareness about the importance of physical and health care and also people’s role in keeping the environment clean, pollution free and hygienic. The campaign will be based on the slogan ‘Healthy People, Healthy Nation’.

Various campaign steps will be carried out in all states where Popular Front has units and cadres. The programmes include classes and demonstrations on environmental protection activities, disease prevention programmes, yoga, physical exercises and right food habits. Sports and games events, mass cleaning of public places, cultural programmes like documentary shows and street dramas are also planned. The campaign to be held in co-operation with local education and health department officers will further strengthen the government level public health efforts. 

There will also be a publicity campaign which will include public awareness booklets and posters in different languages like English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam Telugu and Manipuri among others.

The awareness campaign is convened every year by Popular Front throughout the country. The campaign held in October 2009 had gained much popular support and participation.
