Mangaluru: Retaining wall collapses at Bondel - Woman, child rescued

Mangaluru, Dec 11: A retaining wall collapsed at Krishnanagar, Bondel in the outskirts of the city here on Saturday, December 11.

A woman and a child who got buried under a huge heap of mud were rescued.

The condition of the woman is said to be serious. The child is reportedly out of danger.

The incident took place while Mangaluru City Corporation authorities were carrying out work under the Jalasiri project in Krishnanagar. The woman and child hail from Uttar Kannada.

The duo was rescued with help of excavator.

The woman has been admitted to Wenlock hospital.

    So much responsibility and prevention from MCC taking during their work .Now who pays for their hospital charges or any medication etc.Hope the woman will get well soon .and baby too.why did the people not taken care to see that wall was protected?During the work
