No compromise in war against cyber criminals: CM Bommai

Bengaluru, Dec 12 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday sent out a tough message to the cyber criminals, saying time has come to wage a war on cyber crimes.

"Go after the cyber criminals, come what may there should be no compromise, we have zero tolerance for them and the time has come to wage a war on cyber crimes," he said.

He made the remarks while speaking after launching the 'Cyber Secure Karnataka' campaign.

The Chief Minister said the state has introduced the CIR number system. It is the first of its kind in the entire country, wherein an FIR would be registered and bank accounts of the victim and the offenders would be frozen following just a mobile phone communication. "Even the Prime Minister has appreciated it and it is being emulated by other states as well," he said.

Referring to use of Dark Web in narcotics supply, child trafficking and illegal arms supply, Bommai said: "All this come through cyber route. Our government started CEN (Cyber, Economic offences, Narcotics) police stations when I was the Home Minister."

"Our government has declared a war against narcotics. However only police stations are not enough. We need technology, modern equipment and funds. I can provide you everything to enable you to go after this cyber criminals. Come what may there is no compromise, we have zero tolerance against drug trafficking," he said.

Quoting a saying, "crime leads the law", he stressed the need for Cyber laws to catch up with criminals to deal with them swiftly and effectively.

As the criminals have a wide network, we need to widen the Cyber Security Network, the Chief Minister said, suggesting the officials to seek the cooperation and suggestions from the Central government in this regard.

He called upon the youth to use their digital knowledge and gadgets as a weapon. "Use the technology for good cause with social responsibility to better their future."

Basavaraj Bommai as per your message & statement to the cyber criminals, saying time has come to wage a war on cyber crimes. "Go after the cyber criminals, come what may there should be no compromise, we have zero tolerance for them and the time has come to wage a war on cyber crimes," he said. Very good decision, go ahead, your decision should be implemented all over in India and it should be adhered, drug mafia is damaging our society, if you so curious what stand on Mundra Port in Gujarat drug trafficking, what we have to think about 3000 Kgs drugs, is it provision (Food) for our daily consumption, believe me no body have dare to raise voice regarding this issue, i hope question will be tough to digest, but logic is there, if we work on grass root then only chances of mitigate this disease, rather than statements. In India do we have record how much bank accounts have been hacked, how many customers lost their hard earn money, how many politicians and public personal abusing each others on religion matters, aggressive statements, beef, eggs, murder, rape, robbery, what is root cause, believe me our judiciary should be questioned. Our qualified youth spoiling their life with these activities, concern personnel utilising them for their purpose, do you aware how many youths having cases on them which really not belongs to them, could you imagine what situation there of this families. This is not a question believe me this is as request. In September, 3,000 kg of drugs were seized at Mundra Port in Gujarat and tracked to Aashi Trading Company, which is registered at an address in a middle-class locality in Vijayawada. Appaji Reddem reports on the ongoing investigation of one of the biggest drug hauls of the country.

What percentage of Cyber Criminals are nabbed so so far? Less than 3%? By the time victim finds right police station to file FIR...criminal has few weeks time to switch phone and track! Only talks in media, nothing more, nothing new! Most criminals are based in Noida.. and siphoning bank accounts! It may take months to check there and no work done?? Criminals know lethargic attitude of law enforcement?

By bringing Anti-conversion law... this govt, probably end up indirectly converting Hindu youths as militants....!!!! Hinduism religion is one which withstood all kind of assault from Mughals & Britishers for over 6 centuries..., and still standing tall & mighty in the universe.... now feeling vulnerable is a laughing matter..., to say the least in fact by degenerating the real moral ideals of Hinduism, this govt causing more damage to the Hinduism than protecting it by bringing laws..., First let all Hindus practice the tenets of REAL Hinduism...,
