Mangalore, Dec 2:
An exhibition of paintings by Madhu Madappally was inaugurated at Orchid Art Gallery here on December 2 at 5.30 pm.

Dr John T Rampuram, professor, medicine, Kasturba Medical College, inaugurated the exhibition by lighting the lamp.

The exhibition will be open till December 12. Madhu Madapally, born in Madappally in Kozikode, Kerala was trained in Kerala School of Arts, Talassery. He has been honored with various awards like State Award CWRDM in 1998, OYP – Indian Junior Chamber, Kerala in 1999, State Award by General Education Department, Kerala in 2001, Muthukulam State Award in 2006 and Kalaratnam Award by Kaladarapanam, Kochi in 2007.

The style of Madhu’s painting is extricate as well as explicit. Treating the canvas with palate knife and brush, his artworks take the onlookers to infinity of sight. It is unity or diversity, that binds the painting of Madhu. The paintings of Madhu vary from one another and take the viewers to a complicated but relaxed realm of enigma.

On the occasion, the winners of Daijiworld Weekly drawing competition that was held to mark Children's Day were given the prizes. Daijiworld Weekly editor Hemacharya spoke on the occasion. Dr Rampuram distributed the prizes. William Pais, director, Orchid Art Gallery welcomed as well compered the ogramme.
