Yeddyurappa Grants Rs One Crore to Temple in Tamil Nadu

Yeddyurappa Grants Rs One Crore to Temple in Tamil Nadu

Bangalore, Dec 4 (PTI): Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who has been seeking divine blessings to end his political woes, on Saturday announced a Rs one crore grant for the construction of a guesthouse at a temple in Tamil Nadu.

Yeddyurappa, facing heat from the Opposition over alleged land scams, made the announcement while offering worship at the Balasubramanya temple.

He also laid the foundation stone for the guesthouse being built by the temple authorities.

Yeddyurappa had last month rushed to Vaishnodevi temple to pray for his continuation as the chief minister after BJP high command contemplated directing him to step down in the wake of allegations of corruption and nepotism against him.

The party top brass, however, allowed Yeddyurappa to continue in office.

Yeddyurappa Hopes to Complete Term

Tiruchendur (Tamil Nadu), Dec 4 (IANS): Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa Saturday offered prayers at temples in Tamil Nadu and said that he would complete his term and the Bharatiya Janata Party would return to power in his state.

He was here to seek the divine grace of Subramania Swami, the main deity at the Thiruchendur Murugan temple, around 560 km from Tamil Nadu capital Chennai.

After offering prayers to Subramania Swami, Yeddyurappa participated in a special 'yagna' session held at the Chaththru Samhara Murthy Swami Sannadhi inside the temple.

Speaking to reporters here, Yeddyurappa said: "I will complete the term and the party will come back to power for another five years."

He said the Karnataka government will be building a guest house here for the benefit of people from his state visiting the temple.

Flying in to Tuticorin in a special plane, Yeddyurappa reached here in a car.

He later visited Madurai to offer prayers at the Meenakshi Amman temple.

Hay Dude,The history of the Indian National Congress falls into two distinct eras:
The pre-independence era, when the party was at the forefront of the struggle for independence and was instrumental in the whole of India
The post-independence era, when the party has enjoyed a prominent place in Indian politics, ruling the country for 48 of the 60 years since independence in 1947.
In the pre-independence era, the congress was divided in two groups, moderate and activist. The moderates were more educated and wanted to win people's faith to lead the nation to independence without bloodshed.the activists however wanted to follow a revolutionary path and make it a militant organization.
    The pre-independence era
First session of Indian National Congress, Bombay, 28-31, December, 1885.Main article: Indian National Congress - Freedom Era
The Congress was founded by Indian and British members of the occultist movement Theosophic Society, most notably A.O. Hume.[6]. It has been suggested that the idea was originally conceived in a private meeting of seventeen men after a Theosophical Convention held at Madras in December 1884. Hume took the initiative, and it was in March 1885, when the first notice was issued convening the first Indian National Union to meet at Poona the following December.

Founded in 1885 with the objective of obtaining a greater share in government for educated Indians, the Indian National Congress was initially not opposed to British rule.

    Hey Dude,

Today u & me are enjoying independence due to the sacrifies of all our Indian people and Congress movement, not because of your Congress party. May be you are aware about the difference between movement & party. FYI Congress party formed after independence. Don't compare white & black, be realistic. Prior to providing any information please thinks & write so that it is better for the public forum.

Nagesh Nayak, Bangalore, your brain has to be enlightened by certain simple facts. 1. Congress is the party responsible to bring independence to India which you and I are enjoying today. 2. I don’t have to remind you of our independence hero Mahatma Gandhiji of Congress, you very well know his killer and his connection to your party. 3. Are you aware how much agricultural land donated to the poor by Nehru family? Do you know more than 500 acres of land given away by P.V. Narasimha Rao. Both belong to Congress Party. Hope you too have a list of BJP donors.
You have accused that funds are being transferred to Christian Missionaries, hope you have sufficient evidence to substantiate your claim and then be prepared for a defamation case.

According TOI Karnataka government is on borrowing spree. They are raising money through Bonds, which could ruin Karnataka finances. During 2009/10 they have borrowed Rs 3417 Crores. In this situation more than Rs 15 Crores have been given generously from the state exchequer to Tamilnadu, Andra Pradesh and Kerala temples in addition to the huge sum of money allocated to religious Mutts. It pains when a tax payer who sincerely pay his taxes. Funds are being diverted to such institutions nobody knows how, when and to whom these funds are being redirected. Voters of Karnataka are being taken for a royal ride.

HATS OFF TO Mr. Nagesh Nayak's SHRIMAAN YEDIYURAPPAJI.. It's a golden chance to our Shriman Jai Ho to spend his older days in such guest house saying Rama Nama rather than posting such rotten comments. If billions of funds pouring in to India to construct Mosques and churches , it's a good news that it would strengthen the Indian Economy. Most of the churches and Mosques are built on individual donations and donations from their religious institutions either it be from India or from any foreign country. But it is bullshit to believe that the funds are used for forceful conversion. Why the people have to convert if they are comfort with their religion?. If any people are converting to other religion means they are not happy and comfortable in that religion. Because of your leaders like Yediyoorappa Gods are enjoying luxurious life inside the temple and poors are dying of hunger and thirsty in the slum. Your leaders are busy in donating temple and not for the poor. So the poor naturally get attracts to other religion where their hunger is addressed and converts to other religion.Hunger has no religion it may tempt any person to beg for food in front of temple, church or mosque. He need food when he is hungry irrespective of his religion. So let your Appaji better know this fact and work hard for the poor who are really in need of help and not the statues inside the temple. Otherwise in the next election god has to stand in the que to vote yediyoorappa.

Yeddy had one chance to prove his loyalty to his State but be rears the neighbour by developing the temples there ! Nagesh Nayak at-least opine that the money (our tax contribution) should have been used for developing temples in Karnataka than cribbing for money from abroad comes for developing church/mosques. That money comes through bank transactions (not Hawala) to make India's economy strong. What it is used for is earner's prerogative not yours !

Hats off to certain Pseudos, who are unaware of their own religious values and law of the country, and have the pseudo courage to comment on others religion. There is no harm in donating to a temple church and Mosque. But there is a difference in the source of money. Let our CM prove that he is not donating the money meant for the development of the country. When people are dying of hunger it is a pseudo notion to donate to religious entities. And if someone alleges another religion of conversion, let him speak after giving the concrete proof to readers and show us the rate of conversion, A man who speaks without facts is the Biggest Pseudo of all times. Instead of donating one crore to temple, it would have been better if our beloved CM had spent that money to educate certain pseudo maamus about their own religion its rich values and 3,000 years history which they have forgotten. Grease the palms of the Gods and yeddi's chair will stop slipping from under his cheddi, and he can hold on to the chair comfortably and swallow some more land for his family, buxom lass Shobha, and all is relatives.

I want to tell those who make a hype of this, that the collections in crores from all the temples through the endowment(mujrai) is being used for the public works not for the temples, only 15%of the money collected from the temples ,is being used for just running these temples and all the rest is going to government revenue for other utilities, can anyone tell us spending one crore or for that matter 10crore for development of a temple is wrong?? I think those who argue here unneccessarily is just because they cannot see BJP in the power, dont be one sided in arguement ,use ur sense instead! As you all are aware only the hindu temples are under mujrai, all others who get all sorts of donations & funds do not surrender them to government, but they are free to utilize these as they wish .If the government give free hand for all the hindu temples to use their money through the appointed trust or board by the devotees ,it would not have led to this sort of desperation by any so called minorities.

Answer from well traveled person is " Saudi Arabia is a very rich & generous country and it pays alms to poor haj pilgrims and that money comes back to India and other poorly governed countries as foriegn exchange. It help poor & all poorly governed people like we Indians. God does not need alms, Indians do need alms because we one billion people only make noice and do not take care about our own poor & needy

This is absolutely crazy of Yeddi. Instead, this sum should have been distributed among the small farmers who lost their yields and life recently. Some one like Lokayuktha must curb on these type of foolishness. The sum should be debited to Yeddi’s account.

The aryans have brainwashed Yeddi. He is the victim of aryan plot. Poor fellow. He is not pleasing Gods, but he is pleasing aryans who control Gods. Now its the high time that the rest of non aryan hindus wake up and start a movement to crush aryan supremacy in the society. All human beings are equal and birth is not the deciding factor for ones superiority.

We shamed to say that we have CM who is only donating our state's taxpayers money to temples of our and other states, instead of utililizing for the development. If you donate our taxpayers money to temples etc then what development we can expect from you ?.Poor farmers are struggling due to uninterrupted rain and our CM not concerned about this. Fit for priest job in temple. Nowadays if anybody wants to meet our CM don't go to Vidhana soudha, just search in temples in Karnataka and south india. Such a shameless CM.

This is a great test of will that
the CM will hold on to the chair
by throwing away any amount to Temples.

He is trusting in the full
protection of gods but won't care
    about the electorate of Karnataka.

Is it his own money or the tax-payers money?

Neither wisdom nor reason can convince him to give up the fight,
    because he is totally confused.

India is a constitutional democracy neither Hindu, Muslim, Christian or any other religious Nation. Elected persons in india should not donate public funds to any religious organazations. Government should stay away from religion.Tax all religious collections & focus on grater good of all citizens.

It is really shame to say that we are Karnataka's public to elect such a stupid CM. Even a much less educated Bihar has better knowledge/value of Vote than Educated Kannadigas. Wakeup friends and read the artical of SP Poojary otherwise oneday your land will be sold to someone and 10% will be donated to some Temple/Church. Balance will be deposited in his Swiss Account.

yeddyurappa yara appana gantu, for sake of your chair don't pay tax payers money, just give from your own money from recently drawn from some bank after landscam. I think there is scam in this money giving to the temple, later they will pay back half of the grant to the CM sons company.

Yeddyurappa is only busy with visiting Temples, taking holy dips in temple ponds, announcing grants to Temples all around and seeking devine blessings to continue in C.M's chair despite all corruption/land grab charges against him notwithstanding. He is wasting tax payers money to save his chair with the belief that God will come to his rescue or heads of these temples/Mutta's (to whom he has donated) will lobby with BJP high command not to displace him from CM's chair. What a shame? He is forgetting that people of Karnataka voted for BJP in the last election with a hope and expectation that Yeddyurappa will give a curruption free government. Everyone thought after the experience of many many years' of rule by other parties this party will work for good governance and development. But this government has also proved that they are not different than the others. BJP's claim that they are a party with difference is bogus and farce at least in Karnataka. Perhaps this is valid in case of Gujarat where the BJP headed by Modi is ruling. Yeddyurappa should take a lesson from Nitish Kumar (Bihar) who has demonstrated that good governance, development and corruption free rule only can secure CM's chair and also win relection. If Yeddyurappa does not change is style of governance, the next time people of Karnataka will throw him in to the Arabian Sea where he can take holy dips and pray permanently.
