Mangalore: Social, Cultural Programme – 2010 Held in Memory of Mulki Sunderram Shetty Concludes

Mangalore, Dec 5: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji called Mulki Sunderram Shetty as Vijaya Sarathi of Vijaya Bank considering his great personality and said that Sunderram has built a bridge called ‘Vijaya Bank’ akin to Lord Rama building of Rama Setu.
He was delivering his benedictory speech at the valedictory function of the social and cultural programme – 2010 organized by Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organization (VBWO) in memory of its founder late Sunderram Shetty at a programme held at A B Shetty Memorial Hall, Bunts Hostel here on Sunday December 5.
He added that one's life will be useful and successful when it is led for upliftment of others. He also said that the achievement made by Sunderram Shetty is a model one for the generations to come. He lauded Sunderram Shetty for taking leadership in financial sector and thereby giving employment opportunities to many.
On the same occasion, a book on Mulky Sunderram Shetty by N P Shetty, retired manager, Vijaya Bank was released by swamiji.
Mijar Annappa, yakshagana artiste, Kalathur Shekarbabu Shetty, Udupi Group of Hotels Abudhabi, Sri Srinivas Mankude, Karnataka Tulunada Sangha and K V Shetty, senior drama writer were felicitated on the occasion.
K Muddanna Shetty, general secretary, VBWO Bangalore presided.
A grand procession was organized from founder's branch (Ambedkar Circle) to A B Shetty Memorial Hall, with the portrait of Mulki Sunderram Shetty.
Amarnath Shetty, president, Bunts Sangha, Sadananda Shetty, chairman Sri Devi Education Trust, Aravinda Poonja, Poonja Associate among others were present. Ln Kadri Navaneeth Shetty compered the programme.
