Udupi, Jan 5: Manipal Academy of Higher Education’s pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal, highlighted and appreciated the work done by the Rotary organisation saying it has always supported its members and responded to every problem of the society.
Dr Ballal was speaking on the occasion of Rtn Dinesh Nayaks visit to MAHE, Manipal.
Rtn Dinesh Nayak, who stays in the US, has donated the International Fund for the construction of the Rotary Club Manipal Town MAHE Skin Bank - a joint project of MAHE and Rotary. He was felicitated by Dr Ballal on his visit to MAHE, Manipal.
Speaking on the contribution of the Rotary organisation Dr Ballal said “the Rotary organization has rendered the highest service in the field of health, education, poverty, world peace, and unity. It has always responded to each and every problem the society is facing. The support provided by the organisation to its members is truly remarkable”
Speaking about the launch of Rotary MAHE Skin Bank Rtn Dinesh V Nayak said, “The successful launch of the Skin Bank has been a matter of great pride for us. This joint project of MAHE Manipal and Rotary Club of Manipal Town will benefit the community greatly. Rotary will always support such causes and is a great platform for social service projects. Indian youth, not only in the country but also abroad can join Rotary and serve the country and other people in need around the world” Dr Sharath Rao, dean, KMC Manipal informed that the Skin Bank project, jointly launched by MAHE and the Rotary Club - Manipal Town, is being implemented by the Childrens Cancer Fund and Bone Bank.
The felicitation function was also attended by MAHE registrar Dr Narayana Sabhahit, pro vice-chancellors Dr PLNG Rao and Dr Venkatraya Prabhu, Rtn Dr Suresh Shenoy - AG Zone-IV, Rtn KS Jaivittal, Rtn Dr Ganesh Nayak - President RC Manipal Town, Rtn Dr Sesappa Rai, Rtn Sachidananda Nayak, Rtn Dr Raviraja, Rtn Hilda Cornelio, Rtn Suresh Kotian and Rtn Dr Sreedhar D.
