Udupi: Ex-servicemen’s Assn Observes Indian Armed Forces Flag Hoisting Day

Udupi, Dec 7: Indian Armed Forces flag hoisting day was observed at Martyrs Memorial in Ajjarkad, here on Tuesday December 7 under the aegis of the district Ex-servicemen’s Association.
Kundapur sub-division officer Sadashiv Prabhu offered honour to the martyred Indian armed forces personnel at the Memorial, here on Tuesday and urged the ex-servicemen to strengthen their association in order to avail various benefits meant for the retired armed forces personnel by the governments.
Sadashiv Prabhu further said that the ex-servicemen lack the co-ordination owing to which government benefits are not availed properly, he said.
Air Vice Marshal Ramesh Karnik, Colonel Castelino, Colonel Ramachandra Rao, Laxminarayan Baliga, Colonel Victor F D’Souza, Ex-servicemen’s Society president M D Sridhar, Ex-servicemen’s Association former president Chandrashekar Suvarna were present on the occasion.
Gilbert Braganza welcomed the gathering. Ratnakar Samant delivered the introductory address.
